KDEF's High School Scholarship Program provides promising secondary school students from vulnerable families in Marsabit and Samburu Counties in Northern Kenya with resources they need to to complete four years of study in high quality boarding schools, without distractions or want for food, clothing, supplies, and safe housing.
A sponsorship for four years of secondary schooling in a boarding school is $4,000 ($1000 per year).
To qualify, students must score above 280 on Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam in Grade 8, must demonstrate extreme need and go through a rigorous application and interview process.
KDEF's focus remains predominantly on girls with 65% receiving scholarships.
